I am an assistant professor in the English Department at York University, Glendon campus. My areas of research are late twentieth and twenty-first century Canadian & Québécois literature. I am specifically interested in language/social politics, confessional discourse, and avant-garde poetics. I have published in numerous academic journals as well as in a variety of popular magazines.
I am currently working on two book projects, Evasive Maneuvers looks at Canadian women writers' ambivalent engagement with the confessional mode. (Un)thinking the Past considers the way tensions between anglophones and francophones have been distilled in fictional representations of historical conflicts like the October Crisis and the two sovereignty referendums.
